The Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring strict adherence to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and company policies. This position focuses on coaching, counseling, and educating drivers to maintain the highest safety standards and remain compliant. This role works directly with Small Business Units (SBUs) to assist with managing Netradyne camera alerts and other safety and compliance-related tasks.

 

Responsibilities

Prime, Inc. is looking for a self-motivated, energetic individual to join our Safety team.  Responsibilities of this position would include coordinating activities involving safety and/or accidents by performing the following duties:

 

  • Provide support and white-glove service to Prime drivers.
  • Review and verify Netradyne camera alerts.
  • Take inbound phone calls, emails, and internal AS400 messages from drivers and Fleet Managers regarding Netradyne camera alerts and other safety concerns.
  • Assist Fleet Managers within Small Business Units (SBUs) with weekly Netradyne Managed Coaching and other safety and compliance-related tasks.
  • Support FMCSA/DOT compliance activities as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Knowledge

Basic knowledge of the trucking/transportation industry and/or FMCSA regulations preferred. 

 

Abilities

Strong organizational, computer, and customer service skills required. Accurate typing with a minimum 45 WPM.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel. Ability to multitask across computer systems, phone, and mutiple concurrent projects. Flexible schedule required. 

 

Experience, Education, and Training

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in Risk Management or related Business degree is strongly preferred; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Physical Requirements

This position requires being able to sit and remain focused and motivated for long periods of time. The call volume for this position is significant. Being able to multitask between the computer, phone, and different projects is required.

 

Working Environment

Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general office environment. Call volume can be heavy at times.
