Instructs individuals and groups in theory and application of truck driving skills. 

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and explains handling of commercial vehicles in emergencies, safe driving techniques, and mechanical scenarios;
  • Supervises individual's performance of routine driving and parking requirements;
  • Observes individual's driving habits and reactions under various driving conditions to ensure conformance with vehicle operational standards; 
  • Teaches motor vehicle regulations and insurance laws;
  • Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull minimally. 
  • Maintains safe learning environments throughout the facility.
  • Coordinates with other departments to maintain training spaces/equipment.

Qualifications

Knowledge

Truck driving experience is a requirement. Knowledge of safety rules and regulations is beneficial.

 

Abilities

Must have a strong work history. Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends required.

 

Experience, Education, and Training

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Physical Requirements

This position requires constant standing and walking; frequent sitting, head turning, writing, typing and reaching forward. Applicant must be able to lift, carry, push and pull minimally.

 

Working Environment

Both indoor and outdoor working environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.

 

Licensing/Certification

Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Hold a valid CDL A for the past two years.

 

Miscellaneous Requirements

Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
