Prime, Inc. is looking for a self-motivated, energetic massage therapist to joining our salon and spa team.  This position will primarily be responsible for relieving discomfort and easing muscle tension through the art of massage by performing the following duties:

• The therapist will confer with clients prior to the massage to discuss any medical issues or what problems the client might have with stress or pain. This will help determine what type of massage will be most beneficial to the client.
• The massage therapist must gauge the condition of the client’s soft tissues, the joint function and quality, range of motion and the muscle strength.
• When applicable, the therapist may suggest a specific treatment plan for the client.
• Will blend the massage oils and apply them during the massage to the client.
• The therapist may educate his or her clients on how to improve their posture and teach them strengthening, stretching and rehabilitative exercises as well as relaxation techniques.
• Performs related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge

Candidate should be knowledgeable about different massage techniques and be comfortable administering them per requests from clients.  Applicants must also be willing to continue to obtain knowledge about the most current techniques during length of employment.

Abilities

This person should be able to effectively communicate with clientele in order to generate and retain business while also relationship building. Applicant should also be comfortable standing a majority of the day, and also be able to perform massage up to 7 hours per working day.

Experience, Education, and Training

This position requires a current massage license. Prior experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

A majority of the position will be required to stand, while there is also kneeling, bending, stooping and reaching involved. Applicant is required to lift 37lbs. Pushing would be variable depending on degree of massage.

Working Environment

Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general salon environment. Workplace can be fast-paced.

Licensing/Certification

Requires a massage license.

Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
