Responsibilities

Optimizes shop performance while providing a safe, clean, and organized working environment for mechanics. Performs daily inspections on company fork lifts and various shop equipment to ensure compliance with all OSHA rules and regulations regarding such equipment. Transports parts to and from Prime fabrication shop as required. Sweeping up shop floors, organizing parts shelves, receiving parts inventory, delivering pallets to other departments, and a variety of other daily tasks are all requirements for this position.

 

  • Ability to perform a list of tasks on a daily basis with little or no direct supervision.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, clutter free, organized, and safe working environment for Rebuild mechanics.
  • Ability to follow daily check lists while inspecting company fork lifts and scissor lifts and making minor repairs as necessary.
  • Must be proficient in driving a fork lift and be licensed within 30 days of hire date.
  • Must have a class E license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire date.
  • Ability to perform minor welding, grinding, and some mechanical experience a plus. 
  • Must be willing to be a team player and perform tasks at a pace that promotes an efficient environment for on duty mechanics.
  • Primary goal for position is to create a clean shop environment that is free of hazards for our Rebuild associates. Special projects that improve shop efficiency or create a safer shop environment are also daily tasks associated with this position.
  • Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 6:30AM-4:30PM.  
  • Starting pay is $18/hr

Qualifications

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

 

Knowledge

Mechanical experience is a plus.

 

Abilities

Must have a strong work history. Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends required. Candidate must be able to acquire a rolling toolbox and own tools once the training period has been completed.

 

Experience, Education, and Training

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Physical Requirements

This position requires constant standing, handling, and forward reaching; frequent head turning, bending, side reaching and pinching. The candidate will need to lift and carry 100lbs, push 50lbs, and pull 100lbs.

 

Working Environment

Both indoor and outdoor working environment with exposure to varying weather conditions and chemical odors. Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team. Applicants for the position understand and acknowledge that PRIME implements in active practice a hearing conservation program that is fully aligned with the prescribed OSHA and related regulatory requirements (as defined in 29 CFR 1910.95).

Licensing/Certification

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from work.

 

Miscellaneous Requirements

Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.

The failure of any associate to abide by the safety requirements stated in this paragraph may subject the associate to the appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
