Responsibilities

Coordinates activities involving safety and/or accidents by performing the following duties:

  • Enters accidents into the system
  • Taking phone calls from drivers and in-house personnel regarding accidents or safety issues.
  • Update accident information in our system as new data is gathered.
  • Routinely make safety decisions that significantly impact our drivers or potential drivers up to, and including, decisions on whether a driver should be disqualified from driving.
  • Offer additional training to associates involved in safety incidents.
  • Determine acceptable CPAP compliance for a driver.
  • Review and coach drivers who receive Critical Events.
  • Determine whether an applicant meets our standards to be offered the opportunity to attend orientation.
  • Leverage Technology to analyze extensive amounts of data to determine accident trends.
  • Determine preventability of accidents
  • Sending various messages to drivers regarding safety issues.
  • Assisting with Friday morning Safety Meeting.
  • Communicate with law enforcement agencies in matters related to safety and driver behavior.
  • Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 7am-5pm
  • Ideal candidate will have advanced skills in Microsoft Power BI and Excel
  • This is NOT a remote position.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Knowledge

Advanced knowledge of the trucking/transportation industry required. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations strongly preferred.

 

Abilities

Strong data analysis, organizational, computer, and customer service skills required. Accurate typing with a minimum 45 WPM.  Must be extremely proficient with Microsoft Excel, including use of advanced formulas and spreadsheet building. Sequel experience preferred.  Multitasking and a flexible schedule required.  Must be able to provide coaching and motivation in a positive way to improve driver performance.  Ability to work independently with minimum supervision required.  The ideal candidate would be a person that brings energy, enthusiasm, initiative, sound judgement, and the desire to contribute to Prime’s overall safety program resulting in fewer accidents, reduced accident costs, increased driver satisfaction, and a safer company.

 

Experience, Education, and Training

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with a Business degree is strongly preferred; and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  OTR driving experience a plus.

 

Physical Requirements

This position requires being able to sit and remain focused and motivated for long periods of time. The call volume for this position is large. Being able to multitask between the computer, phone, and various projects is required.

 

Working Environment

Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general office environment. Call volume can be heavy at times.
