Primatara is a large acreage private estate and horse farm with many varied landscapes from the highly manicured gardens and lawns surrounding the main house to event spaces to more naturalized native plantings and bioswales.  The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of landscape experience, have an eye for detail, be self-motivated to work independently or lead a small crew, have good time management skills, and can communicate effectively.  This position reports to the Horticulturist.

  • Day to day upkeep and maintenance of the grounds
  • Lead and delegate tasks to a small crew of 2-4 people per the direction of the Horticulturist
  • Perform landscape maintenance duties including but not limited to: lawn care maintenance such as mowing, line trimming, aerating, overseeding, fertilizing, manual and chemical weed control; natural area maintenance such as tree and shrub pruning, line trimming, fall and spring bed clean up, leaf clean up, weeding, mulching, planting, native plant and invasive plant ID; formal garden maintenance such as hedge trimming and shaping, deadheading, bed edging, daily cleaning/leaf blowing of hardscape surfaces, irrigation maintenance and minor repairs, hand watering, fertilizing, seasonal planting and weeding
  • Communicate effectively and work closely with Horticulturist
  • Scout pest and disease issues, irrigation issues and other concerns in the landscape
  • Gas powered equipment use required, backpack blower, line trimmer, mower, edger, tiller, etc



Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:



Some landscape maintenance experience required, including working knowledge of gas powered equipment and seasonal landscape schedules. 



Must have a strong work history. The work can be repetitive and physically demanding. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers. Must be able to work independently and also part of a team environment.


Experience, Education, and Training

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Physical Requirements

This position requires constant standing, walking, forward reaching, pedal control and grasping; frequent head turning, bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, handling, climbing and reaching. Candidate must be able to lift and carry 75lbs and also push and pull a push mower seasonally.


Working Environment

Outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, temperatures and chemical odors.



Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from work. Must be willing to obtain pesticide applicators license. 


Miscellaneous Requirements

Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
