The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeper in the day- to- day operations of the Housekeeping department. The Executive Housekeeper ensures the hotel meets the highest in guest cleanliness expectations and brand standards, and acts as the Executive Housekeeper in his/her absence

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and designate Room Attendants, Houseman, Lobby Attendants and Housekeeping Inspectors daily assignments
  • Conducts daily pre-shift meetings and reviews all pertinent information for the day’s activities in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Conducts daily inspections to ensure guest room and public areas cleanliness and safety
  • Assists in the training of the new and current housekeeping associates
  • Assists in counting the Housekeeping inventory
  • Assists the Executive Housekeeper in controlling expenses and minimizing waste in all areas of the housekeeping department. Works with the Executive Housekeeper in ordering supplies
  • Assists with deep cleaning projects and assists housekeeping staff during rush periods. This includes cleaning guest rooms when needed.
  • Coordinates expected arrivals and departures with Front Desk
  • Takes phone calls and radio requests from guests, Admin Office and Guest Services and directs staff to complete the required tasks.
  • Stays in constant communication with Engineering Department to maintain and correct all repairs and renovation challenges.
  • Assists in training and enforcement of all Choice brand standards.
  • Assists Executive Housekeeper in the handling of daily & weekly schedule based on forecast.
  • Attends required weekly Housekeeping management meetings.
  • Assists in achieving and maintaining QA goals and ratings.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, and develops alternative solutions

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of Housekeeping experience
  • Must be dedicated to providing extreme guest service
  • Ability to make strong guest service judgements/ decisions
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • OPERA operating system experience preferred
  • Basic accounting and inventory skills
  • Must excel in a fast paced environment
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Must have a positive, cheerful disposition
  • This is a management position that requires open availability

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires constant standing and walking. Position also requires frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing and overhead reaching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 35lbs. Must be able to push and pull 50lbs.

Working Environment:

  • Primarily indoor working conditions in a fast-paced environment. Though will be required to work in outdoor conditions at times.

Miscellaneous Requirements

Candidate must be able to pass a physical through CARR Physical Therapy prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
