Prime is looking for teachers to join our Brand New learning center at our SLC location. Prime's Learning Center Teacher instructs children in activities that are age appropriate designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school



  • Attend to children’s basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing their diapers when applicable.
  • Instructs children in practices of personal cleanliness and self-care
  • Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills. Supervises and/or implements daily lesson plans.
  • Establish and reinforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order.
  • Read books to entire classes or to small groups.
  • Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and imaginative play.
  • Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling and field trips.
  • Alternates periods of strenuous activity with periods of rest or light activity to avoid overstimulation and fatigue.
  • Helps children develop habits of caring for own clothing and picking up and putting away toys and books.
  • Serves meals and refreshments to children.
  • Keeps the children’s safety a priority both in the classroom and on the playground.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the classroom and classroom laundry.
  • Must attend 20 hours of continuing education per year, which may include First Aid, CPR and AED training.
  • Must attend 2.5 hours of pre-service prior to beginning job duties;
  • Hours of operations: Monday - Friday 6:00am to 6:30pm



Knowledgeable about the operation of a learning center is helpful. Childcare experience is preferred.



Must be able to effectively communicate with children, parents and peers. Candidate will need to be able to enforce all administrative policies and rules in governing the children. Must be able to supervise, evaluate and plan age appropriate activities for the classroom, while providing a positive and stimulating environment in which children can thrive. Perform the essential duties of the job.


Experience, Education, and Training

Childcare experience is preferred, although we can train the right candidate. Must be able to demonstrate a solid work history as well as an interest in the industry, be self-motivated, and possess excellent customer service/people skills. Must have at least 3 college credits relating to Early Childhood Education. Lead teachers are preferred to have a B.S., A.A., or C.D.A.


Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for up to entire shift. Performs bending, lifting, and reaching to both ground level and overhead. Lifts and carries children; pushes and pulls, equipment, supplies, etc. up to 50 lbs.


Working Environment

Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in an office environment. However, some time will be spent outdoors in various weather while observing children in the outdoors play area.



Must be able to pass a job specific physical.


Miscellaneous Requirements

Flexible hours required with the willingness to work evenings on occasion.
