Prime, Inc. and Pedigree Sales is looking for a Sales Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for selling used trailers while providing excellent service to our customers. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Greets customer and determines make, type, and quality of equipment desired.
  • Work to expand customer base for increased sales.
  • Explains features and demonstrates operation to customer.
  • Suggests optional equipment, warranties, and/or insurance for customers to purchase.
  • Computes and quotes sales price, including tax, license fee, and discount.
  • Explains requirements for financing of equipment on credit.
  • Prepares sales slip or sales contract then submits it to customer for approval.
  • Receives payment or obtains credit authorization.
  • Arranges for delivery or pickup and registration of the equipment.
  • Researches availability of models and optional equipment.
  • Maintains product knowledge of most current sale inventory.
  • Coordinate with various mechanic shops and other departments in order to ensure timely availability of product.
  • Performs related work as required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Knowledge

Basic knowledge of trucking/transportation industry preferred.

 

Abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to execute logical decisions quickly. Ability to multitask in dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Good computer and keyboarding skills with the ability to accurately type at 45 WPM. Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Good driving record and strong customer service skills mandatory.

 

Experience, Education, and Training

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  At least one year experience in truck or trailer sales strongly preferred. 

 

Working Environment

Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general office environment. Going outside in all weather conditions to show or look at the trucks required.

 

Licensing/Certification

Valid Class A CDL preferred.
