Responsibilities

The Oasis Hotel & Convention Center is currently seeking an Executive Chef to oversee all back of the house operations to include Fire & Ice Restaurant & Bar, the Oasis Convention Center and the Hotel’s complimentary breakfast.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains budgeted food and labor cost for all BOH areas.
  • Place food and supply orders. Ensures all orders arrive and are stored properly.
  • Creation and pricing of Fire & Ice and Convention menus.
  • Maintains consistency of all menu items
  • Continually watches for food waste and loss prevention
  • Ensure appropriate ticket times
  • Conducts daily line inspections
  • Checks BEOs daily and executes banquet meals
  • Ensures Health Department laws and regulations are being followed
  • Maintains cleanliness of kitchen, maintain closing check list
  • Have a firm understanding of all stations within the kitchen
  • Preps for lunch and dinner service
  • Butchering of fresh fish and proteins
  • Running Both inside & outside expo (Checking all food that leaves the Kitchen)
  • Manages all culinary staff to include handling personnel matters, interviewing, counseling, performance improvement, etc.
  • Trains cooks on fundamentals of cooking on a daily basis
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene & professionalism (for self & staff) 
  • All other Assignments asked from the Food and Beverage Director

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable of Health Department requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of Chef experience with Certification preferred.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and have the ability to work calmly in a fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must have open availability, including the willingness to work evenings, weekends, special events, and Holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires constant standing and walking. Frequent head turning, bending, reaching, handling and grasping. Must be able to lift and carry 60lbs. Pushing and pulling is minimal. Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Oasis Hotel.

Working Environment

  • Indoor working conditions in fast paced environment.
