Responsibilities

Prime's Student Driver Coordinator coordinates activities and training of Prime Student Drivers (PSD) by performing the following duties:

 

  • Coordinates training and scheduling of PSD students.
  • Assist with Student/Instructor matching based on several criteria.
  • Practice open communication with the Program Manager regarding progress of individual skills development of trainees
  • Schedule CDL testing times
  • Communicating Prime culture to students by leading by example.
  • Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required.
  • Training program runs 24/7.  Work schedule will be adjusted to fit training needs.
  • Performs related work as required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Knowledge

Basic knowledge of the trucking industry preferred; transportation experience is required.

 

Abilities

Strong organizational, computer, and customer service skills required. Accurate typing with a minimum 40 WPM.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word. Multitasking and a flexible schedule required. 

 

Experience, Education, and Training

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in Business or a related field is strongly preferred; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Physical Requirements

This position requires constant standing and walking; frequent sitting, head turning, writing, typing and reaching forward. Applicant must be able to lift, carry, push and pull minimally.  Being able to multitask between the computer, phone, active students, and different projects is required.

 

Working Environment

Both indoor and outdoor requirements. Could be subjected to inclement weather conditions at times.

 

Licensing/Certification

Class A CDL is required. Will be required to get experience by completing the course- which includes 75 hours of over-the-road and behind the wheel time (approximately 3 weeks).

 

Miscellaneous Requirements

Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
