Responsibilities

-Responsible For-

-Duties and Responsibilities-

  • Prepares and designates Room Attendant and Houseman’s daily assignments.
  • Conducts daily pre-shift meetings and reviews all pertinent information for the day’s activities
  • Conducts daily inspections to ensure guest room and public area cleanliness and safety.
  • Responsible for staff training and inter-departmental communications
  • Supervises all rotational and special cleaning programs
  • Oversees inventory and disbursement control for all cleaning supplies, guest supplies, uniforms, and equipment. Personally responsible for counting housekeeping inventory.
  • Responsible for controlling expenses and minimizing waste in all areas of housekeeping. Works with Hotel Operations Manager with supply orders.
  • Assists with deep cleaning projects and/or assists housekeeping staff during rush periods. This includes cleaning guest rooms when short staffed.
  • Coordinate expected arrivals and departures with the Front desk.
  • Takes phone calls and radio requests from guests, Admin Office and Guest Services and directs room attendants and houseman to complete the required tasks.
  • Stays in constant communication with Engineering Department to maintain and correct all repairs and renovation problems.
  • Responsible for completing all necessary paperwork pertinent to departmental incentives.
  • Responsible for carrying out verbal/written reprimands and notice of absence/tardiness forms.
  • Responsible for the department schedule
  • Follows and enforces department policies.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the CHOICE brand standards are met.
  • Responsible for training staff of CHOICE brand standards.
  • Responsible for enforcing uniform standards.
  • Meets with Hotel Operations Manager and Campus Executive Housekeeper for a weekly meeting.

Qualifications

-Job requirements-

  • Minimum 2 years of management experience
  • Minimum 3 years previous housekeeping experience
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and have the ability to work calmly in a fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have a positive “can do” attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train and motivate personnel
  • Must be a self starter and able to work a flexible schedule.

 

-Physical Requirements-

  • Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 35lbs, must also be able to push and pull up to 50lbs.
  • This position requires frequent kneeling, stooping, head turning, climbing, overhead reaching and grasping. 
  • Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Oasis Hotel.
